Badminton & Racquet Club of Toronto Selects Dalton for Phase 3 Rebuild

Dalton has been selected as construction manager to complete Phase 3 of the Badminton & Racquet Club of Toronto’s ongoing effort to rebuild its clubhouse following a fire last winter that damaged several areas of the building.

In collaboration with the Club and a team of specialty consultants, including architect Hossack & Associates, interior designer Nicholls & Associates, structural engineer Gravity Engineering and mechanical and electrical engineer Aquila Group, we are completing approximately 32,000 sq. ft. of new construction, including a 4,000 sq. ft. badminton hall.

Dalton was awarded the project based on our extensive experience enhancing and expanding private clubs and rebuilding facilities destroyed by fire. We also successfully demonstrated our approach to address the complex challenges this project presents. This includes:

  • Preparing a detailed and phased construction schedule and budget that allows the Club to resume full operations as quickly as possible.
  • Addressing structural damage to the existing building caused by fire and water.
  • Balancing the need for member and staff occupancy during construction.
  • Planning for a restricted site area that will require members, staff and workers to share access to the club and work site.

Design and planning has already begun on the project, with construction slated to begin later this fall.
