Breathing life into tired or disused spaces is an exciting opportunity from a technical perspective. When paired with the chance to unite and inspire a community, the result can be quite moving. The Dalton Company is proud to have been entrusted with one such project, which was recently completed.

Gorgeous Georgian

The opportunity to preserve a piece of architectural history doesn't come along every day. The townhouses at Little Trinity Church in Toronto presented us all with a chance to breathe life into an 1850's building which otherwise might not have been saved.

The restoration of the Georgian-era facade was the most challenging aspect of the project. Its preservation, through the total reconstruction of the building, is something in which the entire project team takes pride. The client is certainly pleased that the historical facade of the building has been revived to its original appearance.

Most critically, The Dalton Company's Alternative Approach to Building leveraged the speed of trust to create efficiencies of cost and time. In a project which faced architectural and weather challenges, this became an essential advantage in meeting Little Trinity's Definition of Success.

Elements of Dalton's Alternative Approach

To start every project, we establish a comprehensive understanding of the project's parameters by using clear and honest communications, and treating everyone as true partners.

We take the time to understand the architect's and consultant's ideas and concerns. Together, we establish your project's "Definition of Success" and at this point we expect to become fully accountable.

We continually update our clients on the project's "Vital Signs", which is a predictive analysis we have developed that eliminates typical building "surprises".

In the words of our client:

“Notwithstanding the considerable cost pressures Dalton faced as a result of unforeseen circumstances in the context of a stipulated price contract, their commitment to us and to our project never wavered. The integrity with which The Dalton Company has carried out their responsibilities cannot be understated.”

With a well-attended dedication ceremony at the end of May, Little Trinity opened its annex to the community, extending the reach and presence of the church.
