The installation of skylights in the Covered Street Barn at Artscape Wychwood Barns is well under way, says The Dalton Company Ltd.'s Site Manager, Paul Smith.
In a March 12, 2008 interview on YouTube, Paul also confirms all materials being used are 100% recyclable in order to meet requirements for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Canada Certification.
The Barns are located in the Christie Street and St. Clair Avenue area in Toronto and were formerly the TTC streetcar repair barns, dating back to the early 1900s. Construction began in March 2007 and is scheduled for completion in November 2008.
The 60,000 square-foot multi-tenant space is a partnership between Artscape, the City of Toronto and The Stop Community Food Centre.

Dalton works toward LEED certification at Artscape Wychwood Barns
The Dalton Company is committed to getting LEED Canada Certification for the Artscape Wychwood Barns.
This will be the first heritage building redevelopment project in Ontario with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.
In a March 12, 2008 interview on YouTube, Dalton's Site Manager, Paul Smith, says a stormwater harvesting cistern has been installed. Set approximately 15 - 20 feet underground, the cistern will collect rainwater from the roof for reuse.
Additionally, Paul states in the YouTube interview that approximately 96% of site garbage is being diverted from landfill to recycling.
