Dalton acted as Construction Manager for Sterling Hall School for the renovation and expansion of two construction phases totalling $6M in Toronto, ON. The scope of work included a new wing with modern, spacious classrooms and expanded resource spaces, and a gym, which features an indoor climbing wall.

Group

Dalton has been selected by TMX—a financial services company headquartered in downtown Toronto—to build a new Client Centre for events, meetings and broadcasting on Adelaide St. W. Working with project manager JLL and B+H Architects, Dalton is providing CM services to renovate the existing 12,000 sq. ft. facility, which will house several spaces for events, broadcasting, meetings, offices and a café.

Dalton led construction activities for the conversion of a 4,000 sq. ft. commercial office space into a legal office just north of Toronto. The renovation involved the installation of modern electrical, mechanical and IT systems. Working in collaboration with KFA Architects & Planning, the office features stunning high-end finishes, such as oak ceilings and bookshelves, and glass curtain walls, that require focused attention to proactive and craftsmanship. Dalton served as construction manager for the $4.2M interior renovation of the former Canada Bread building into a modern, creative workspace that included 250 workspaces, a 40-seat theatre, soundproof editing rooms, an IT area, two kitchens and two lounges. Dalton recast the interior of the old bakery into an open space environment with natural lighting to create a subdued, work-friendly atmosphere.

The Dalton Company executed a 15-year master plan to renovate CTV's facilities at its iconic 299 Queen St. W. location (formerly known as City TV/CHUM). Dalton's first project was the original CP24 studios, followed by individual projects that were planned and completed on a yearly basis, including BNN and MuchMusic studios.

Dalton was engaged as construction manager to lead the conversion of a former public school–originally built in 1914–into a neighbourhood cultural hub called Artscape Youngplace. It features studios for artists, craftspeople and designers, learning labs, and gallery and social spaces. The prooject was honoured as a Heritage Toronto Award Winner in the William Greer Architectural Conservation and Craftsmanship Category - Honourable Mention.

St. Andrew's College -Wirth Centre

Dalton led construction activities for the Wirth Centre for Performing Arts as part of a $18.6M project for St. Andrew's College. The theatre features a gala lift installed that is equipped with a mechanical system that allows two rows of seating to drop into the theatre’s stage floor. The innovative seating system gives the school the flexibility to expand performance and seating space as required.

Portfolio - Buddies in Bad Times Theatre

Dalton led construction activities to improve accessibility standards at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre in Toronto to help create a more inclusive environment at the community-based performance arts and events space. The renovation involved the installation of a polished, concrete floor, (10) private washroom stalls–including (2) barrier-free stalls–and communal sinks. Our team also added a single-user, universal washroom.

Dalton is currently leading construction efforts to rebuild an iconic private club in downtown Toronto that was partially destroyed by fire. Watch this video to learn how we restored The Club's historic Badminton Hall–a former street car barn.

As Construction Manager, Dalton led an integrated team to execute the new build of Georgian Peaks Ski Club's new 41,000 sq. ft. lodge.

 

Features of the new Main Lodge include dining and lounge spaces, a kitchen, bar, lockers, fireplaces, reception, washrooms, a meeting room, administrative offices, maintenance areas, and nursery and child care.

Royal Canadian Yacht Club (RCYC) selected Dalton to act as Construction Manager to lead a $7M effort to rebuild and renew its City Clubhouse in downtown Toronto and its Island Clubhouse on Toronto Island. Our project team worked closely with RCYC’s CEO, Board and appointed Project Manager throughout both projects to communicate regular updates, challenges and solutions through our Definition of Success reporting system.

St. Philip's hired Dalton to complete enhancements to the exterior and interior of two, separate buildings to help revitalize the St. Philip’s community. Enhancements to the historic Church and Parish Hall include installing custom doors and windows, building two passenger accessibility lifts, creating a new stair-case and balustrade, removing a stage and replacing it with a full-service kitchen.

Batawa Development Corporation (BDC) entrusted Dalton to oversee the transformation of the former Bata Shoe Factory into a condominium featuring 47 residential units and spaces for commercial and community use. As Construction Manager, we provided leadership during the lifecycle of the $34M project, managing several unforeseen issues that were presented throughout the 75-year-old industrial building.

Experience Centre - Yorkdale

Miele selected Dalton to act as project and construction manager to build the Miele Experience Centre Yorkdale based on our successful delivery of its Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver Experience Centres.The centre features virtual appliance stations equipped with digital touchscreens that allow customers to design living spaces with Miele products, a 12-foot living green wall, and programmable theme lighting that changes based on the time of the day.

Dalton was hired by Shouldice Hospital–one of the world's leading centres for hernia repair–to complete extensive renovations at its facilities, which are located in Thornhill, ON. The scope of work included renovations to patient rooms, waiting and recovery rooms, washrooms and common areas. Thorough proactive planning and constant communication with the client, Dalton met or exceeded the project's Definition of Success by successfully completing work over nine phases.
