Construction activities are in full swing at a future facility that will expand Dog Tales—an animal rescue and sanctuary located in King City, ON.

Our project team is focused on completing the interior spaces of the 17,760 sq. ft. facility that will house dogs awaiting adoption. Tiling in several areas—including the dog runs and basement spaces—is nearing completion.

With the mechanical and electrical systems now completed, crews are also focused on the installation of lighting and ceilings.
Outside, crews are installing eavestroughs and snowguards, which help to prevent accidents or damage caused by snow and ice falling from the roof.

Located on a 50-acre property adjacent to King Animal Hospital, Dog Tales Rescue & Sanctuary provides support and care for animals recovering from difficult pasts to enable them for placement in permanent homes. The charitable organization founded by Rob Scheinberg and Danielle Eden Scheinberg is guided by a vision to create “fun, decorated environments” that contrast the poor living conditions many dogs experienced prior to arriving at the sanctuary. In fact, Toronto Life profiled the "swanky" pet sanctuary in this article published in 2018.
Much like Dalton's previous project for Mr. Scheinberg and Ms. Eden-Scheinber, King Animal Hospital, expectations for quality and attention-to-detail are high for the two-level facility. In short, this is not your ordinary temporary home for rescue dogs. It’s a level of quality one would typically encounter in the design and construction of a high-end custom home, not a commercial project.
Once completed, the interior spaces will feature impressive elements such as Terrazzo walls, sconce lighting sourced from Australia, glycol-heated floors within custom-coloured concrete aprons, and individual, outdoor dog runs with artificial turf.

These heightened expectations are challenging our project team to execute construction activities with fastidious attention to details and trust-based collaboration with consultants and trades that delivered stunning results at King Animal Hospital.
