Dalton’s long-time Health & Safety Manager, Rob Partington, is hanging up his safety vest one last time. Rob is entering retirement after a successful career spanning over four decades in the construction industry.
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Shane Halsall as our new Health & Safety Manager, as well as Frank Carr as the new Chair of Dalton’s Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).

Thanks to Rob’s dedication and leadership, Dalton has helped build the strong safety-first culture we are proud of today. Under his leadership, we achieved exemplary Health & Safety that are reflected in these 2025 Occupational Health & Safety key metrics:

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Shane Halsall as our new Health & Safety Manager, as well as Frank Carr as the new Chair of Dalton’s Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).

As Dalton’s Operations Manager, Shane has played a key role building our safety-first culture that is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment that meets or exceeds all legislated and industry standards.
In this role, Shane will be responsible for leading and advancing our health and safety programs across all operations. This includes:
Strengthening our safety management systems and processes.
Ensuring compliance with all provincial and federal regulations.
Partnering closely with project teams to embed best practices on-site.
Driving continuous improvement in safety performance and culture.
Supporting training, audits and incident prevention initiatives.
In this capacity, Shane will continue to serve on Dalton’s Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).
Frank will assume the role of the Chair of Dalton’s Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) to review and discuss accident prevention and make recommendations for improvements. As Chair,
Frank is responsible for leading meetings, setting agendas, ensuring compliance with provincial safety regulations and acting as the primary liaison between the committee and Dalton’s senior management team to resolve hazards.
The experience and expertise that Shane and Frank each bring to their role will help identify potential workplace hazards to ensure health and safety is paramount in all the places our people work.
