Appleby College
Cockwell Hall Addition
Dalton led a team of consultants to convert a 40,000 sq. ft. private residence into an independent school for girls in Aurora. The renovation involved structural steel reinforcement and the installation of mechanical, electrical, and safety systems to meet institutional codes. Key features included a new exterior fire exit, an interior fire separation staircase, a geothermal system, and accessible facilities such as barrier-free washrooms, ramps, and automatic doors. Balancing traditional and modern aesthetics while adhering to budget constraints was essential. Dalton's design review process led to value engineering solutions, saving over $1 million and reducing construction time. By managing procurement proactively and securing long-lead items in advance, we ensured the project was completed on time and within budget.
