We recently helped Crescent School mark a significant milestone on the Alumni Community Hall project with a beam signing event involving students, staff, members of the school’s board and campaign donors.

A large banner featuring signatures from many of the school's students hung high above the proceedings from structural steel that will support the two-storey addition.

Our CEO, Andrew Dalton, and President, Randy Dalton, represented Dalton at a ceremony marked by equal parts sunshine and excitement about the transformative project’s positive impact on the school community.

The event was kicked off by speeches from the school’s Headmaster, Michael Fellin, and Andrew. Headmaster Fellin spoke of the strong foundations laid in building the Alumni Community Hall and in shaping Men of Character. Andrew noted that the beam at the centrepoint of the ceremony represents a point of strength and connection, supported by hundreds of signatures from the school community, that brings everything together.

Andrew also thanked members of the board, Headmaster Fellin and Crescent’s leadership team for entrusting Dalton to help the school realize its goal to build more than just a dining hall, but a new heart of its campus.

In his speech, Andrew also recognized that building a complex addition such as Alumni Hall while the school operates is not without its challenges. However, working through challenges is part of what defines Dalton after 85 years of establishing a reputation built on trust by successfully delivering projects for many independent schools such as Crescent.

Following the speeches, attendees had the opportunity to etch their names into history by stepping up to sign the 20-foot beam prior to workers hoisting it into place for installation.

The event was held on the foundation of the future dining hall that will soon be filled with students and staff in a beautiful, open concept space with expansive views of the campus from the window wall that will rise approximately 25 feet from the floor.
