Our team is steadily making progress with interior and exterior renovations at our Leaside Retirement Living project. Now in its second phase, the project is focused on completing construction activities at Building 14 of the property, which includes:

  • Upgrading the facility’s entire mechanical system

  • Renovating lounges, eating areas and corridors on all floors

  • Building a new roof and rooftop deck measuring 16’ x 50’

  • Refurbishing balconies

  • Installing new railings

  • Refurbishing elements of the building’s exterior

The mechanical system replacement is a complex assignment that requires careful coordination with Leaside Retirement Living staff to ensure that services for residents are maintained throughout construction. This requires constant communication with staff and significant logistics planning due to limited space for staging and storage.

Other challenges include coordinating disruptive construction activities, such as exterior concrete repair that does not significantly interfere with scheduled programming for residents that occurs daily. Dalton staff—led by Site Manager Jeff Ranieri—have worked hard to establish collegial relationships with facility staff and residents to minimize disruption through constant communication and a flexible approach to scheduling.

Targeted completion of phase two is Winter 2026.
